Finnish 'Patria' presents AMV 8x8
Finnish armored vehicle and military equipment producer Patria presented their newest armored vehicle, the Patria AMV 8×8 at the Zagreb Fairgrounds.
Patria plans on supplying the Croatian armed forces with this vehicle, as a part of the international bid for new combat vehicles.
The presentation was followed by a number of representatives from Croatian companies that would be included in the project by means of a so-called “off set” program.
A total of €170 million has been set aside for the project.
The Croatian army is to be supplied with 126 such vehicles, with Austrian Steyr–Daimler-Puch and Finnish Patria to participate.
The “off set” program includes the shipping of production materials to Croatian partnership companies, mainly to Djuro Djakovic of Slavonski Brod, a company with a long history of military vehicle production.
